How to erase recent documents list
To erase recent documents from your PC, you should use special file shredder software.
The Clear All History 'Shredder' option allows you to erase recent documents making recovering absolutely impossible.
But what if you have already deleted recent documents using standard options? Looking for an easy solution to permanently delete 'deleted' files? Try Delete Files Permanently - advanced file shredder
'Wipe free space' option helps you protect your privacy and allows you to erase 'deleted' files without any chances for recovering
Why you should erase recent documents
My Recent Documents list on the Start menu displays a list of documents that you recently used. If you delete recent documents from Start Menu using standard options, it just removes recent documents from the Start Menu but the documents still exist on your hard disk.
Even if you empty the Recycle Bin or format your hard drive, the deleted files are not completely deleted. Windows just removes references to deleted files but the files still exist until they are overwritten by newly created files.
To protect your privacy you should erase recent documents, especially the ones that contain sensitive information.

Tip of the Day How can I delete cookies in Internet Explorer 5.x/6.x manually?
To delete cookies in Internet Explorer 5.x/6.x: Run Internet Explorer Open the Tools menu. Select Internet Options to open the Dialog box. Click the "Delete Cookies" button. In Internet Explorer even if you delete cookies manually, index.dat file stores Internet surfing information. This file can't be deleted manually as it is used by Windows all the time. In ClearAllHistory "Delete cookies" feature is combined with clearing the content of index.dat file.
